Steve Gray

12 years of news reporting and more than 20 years of consulting gives Steve the right to wear all of his gray hair.

Steve is our chief coach and bottle washer. That is to say, he has years of one-on-one, small group and large group experience in coaching executives and subject matter experts how best to tell their story.

Steve Gray is a founder and principal of Rockford Gray, LLC. The Denver-based communications firm provides executive level consulting and coaching on Media Training and Crisis Management for companies and organizations of all sizes.

Prior to founding Rockford Gray, Steve was CEO of BVP Media, Inc. BVP is a full service marketing and communications firm. Steve formed Rockford Gray with business partner Marv Rockford to focus on media consulting, media skills coaching and workshops. With experience as both a reporter and business owner, Steve has the unique perspective of being both a media insider and understanding the unique demands of running a business.

Prior to his work at BVP and Rockford Gray, Steve was an award winning news reporter for television stations in Detroit, Denver, St. Louis, Colorado Springs and Washington, N.C. In the course of his career as a reporter he has received numerous awards including an Emmy for news reporting while at KCNC-TV, Denver. Steve was also one of the lead reporters for the WDIV TV, Detroit newscast that won UPI's “Newscast of the Year” Award.

Steve is a graduate of the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University with a Degree in Journalism and Political Science. Steve also attended the University of Colorado, but we don’t talk much about his days in Boulder.
